Welcome to Uruz Counselling Services.
Where wild strength meets radical softness.

Hi there, I’m Dax.
I did a thing and made a space for people like me. I offer therapy for the wild-hearted, the neurodivergent, and the beautifully complex.
Uruz is the rune of raw strength, healing, and transformation; and that's the energy I bring to this space. I offer warm, quirky, kink-aware, queer-positive counselling for those walking nontraditional paths. Whether you're navigating gender, relationships, trauma, neurodivergence, or just trying to make sense of this chaotic world, you're not too much here. You are just right.
This is a space where softness is sacred, weirdness is welcome, and your truth is honoured. I blend humanistic care with Norse spirituality, nerdy joy, and a deep commitment to justice and accessibility. Come as you are: poly, kinky, trans, mystical, messy, magical. I'm here for it.
What to expect from a session.
You’re here. You made it. Let’s begin.
You settle in — maybe with a stim toy in hand, maybe curled up with a blanket, maybe pacing the room. Whether we’re connecting through a screen or sitting together in the same space, you’re welcome exactly as you are. You might be in your favourite hoodie, surrounded by pets and pillows, or you might be navigating the sensory landscape of my lounge. However you arrive, it’s okay. This is your hour. You get to use it how you need.
Maybe today’s heavy. You’ve had a rough time and need to let it out. I’m here for that.
You may want to explore the past, trace patterns, and make sense of something old. I’ll walk with you.
Maybe you’re ready to face trauma head-on. I’ll be steady, present, and real.
Maybe you’re curious about sex positivity, relationship diversity, identity, and spirituality. Let’s dive in.
I’ll ask questions. I’ll reflect on what I notice. I might point out something you hadn’t seen yet.
I’ll be interactive — not passive.
You can move, stim, doodle, stretch, cry, laugh, swear, or go quiet.
You don’t have to sit still to be understood. You don’t have to mask to be respected.
We’ll shape this space together.
I bring a toolkit, you bring your story, your needs, your truth.
We decide together what fits.
I honour neurodivergence. I honour trauma. I honour queerness, alternative lifestyle choices, spirituality, softness, and fire.
You are not too much. You are not broken. You are not alone.
This is therapy — but it’s also a relationship.
One built on trust, consent, curiosity, and care.
I’m not here to fix you. I’m here to meet you.
My Approach
At the heart of Uruz Counselling Services is a deep respect for you; your autonomy, your truth, your pace. My practice is rooted in the person-centred philosophy of Dr Carl Rogers: that healing happens in relationship, through empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. I show up as myself; congruent, warm, and authentic, so you can feel safe to do the same.
But I’m not a one-size-fits-all therapist. I draw from a rich tapestry of approaches to meet you where you are. That might look like:
CBT for untangling thought patterns
Roleplay and Gestalt for exploring parts of self
Art and music for sensory expression and emotional release
Jungian, stories and myth for symbolic insight and soul work
Pluralistic therapy to co-create what works best for you
You are the expert in the room; on your life, your body and your story. My presence is that of a guide. I'm not here to pathologise your complexity or rush your process. I’ll meet you with curiosity, care, and a fierce commitment to your dignity.
What about the trees?
If you’ve noticed the rainbow eucalyptus trees in the background and wondered if they’re just decorative? They’re not.
The rainbow eucalyptus is a living metaphor for the kind of work we do here. It sheds its bark in ribbons of blue, purple, orange, maroon, and green, revealing fresh layers beneath. That shedding is messy, beautiful, and necessary, just like therapy.
The name eucalyptus comes from the Greek words eu, meaning “well,” and kaluptos, meaning “concealed.” It refers to the protective cap that hides the tree’s delicate stamens until they’re ready to bloom. That idea of being well-concealed speaks to something more profound. Most of us carry these layers as something we’ve built to protect ourselves, shaped by family, culture, or survival. Therapy is a space where those layers can be gently peeled back. Not forced. Not rushed. Just revealed when it feels safe.
The spirit of the eucalyptus is about waking up. Sometimes it takes something big! A rupture, a reckoning or a lightning strike can shake us into change. That doesn’t mean chaos for the sake of it. It means looking right in the face of what’s been holding us back and choosing to move forward. Vulnerability becomes strength. Fear becomes fuel. And growth, even when it’s messy, becomes possible.
And yes, eucalyptus trees can literally explode under pressure! Their oil-rich leaves are flammable, their bark combustible. That destructive potential reminds us: power must be used wisely. Growth asks for courage. Staying safe and hidden might feel easier, but it can also keep us stuck.
Here at Uruz Counselling Services, the rainbow eucalyptus is more than a logo or a backdrop. It’s a symbol of layered healing, bold visibility, and the fire it takes to transform. It reminds us that we’re allowed to be vibrant. We’re allowed to change. We’re allowed to take up space.
In Norse myth, trees are sacred bridges between worlds. For me, the rainbow eucalyptus is a bridge between identity and healing, between story and self.
So yes! Those trees matter. They’re part of the story, just like you.
