A new venture.

Stepping out into the wide world of private practice, it’s got me thinking a lot. Putting myself out on a website is suddenly a lot scarier than introducing me to new people face to face. That first impression is so important, and of course, it comes hand in hand with a dash of anxiety. Putting yourself out there is always difficult. I am taking my own advice, and embracing this opportunity to simply and authentically be me.

A find on youtube this week Less is more: Why our brains struggle to subtract. It is a six-minute video, talking about how as humans, we like to try and add to things to fix them instead of taking something away. It got me considering what I could do in my life, taking and decluttering to help myself feel more happy, instead of incessantly adding to it. This had led me to tidying my work surfaces physically, having a few less piles of things around me, deleting a load of apps from my phone that I really don’t need to scroll on, and having a big think about other potential sources of clutter and toxicity in my life. Maybe less really is more.
